The next GBSF Savate Assaut Gala will be held at Wychwood School, Oxford, on Sunday 19th February 2012.
Fighters are invited to compete at the GBSF Savate Assaut Gala being held in Oxford on 19th February 2012. This event is open to all - with a novice and junior section contested as well as senior and veteran.
- Athletes should read and understand the Regulations.
- Bouts will consist of 3 x 1.5 minute rounds, with 1 minute rest between rounds
- The FIS Refereeing Rules (2006) for Savate Assaut on mats will be enforced
- Athletes must be in possession of equipment in accordance with the GBSF Kit requirements – http://tinyurl.com/3l438ap. Kit will be checked before each fight and the decision of the DO is final.
Athletes with substandard kit may not be allowed to compete.

11:00am - Weigh-in closes
11:30am - Fights start
5:30pm - Fights finish

GBSF Savate Assaut Gala

Venue : Broadwater school, Farncombe, GU7 3BW Fighters are cordially invited to compete in the GBSF November Gala Event this November. Novice fighters will participate in an elimination round prior to being matched with experienced competitors. This event is open to all kick/punch schools on the understanding that Savate rules and equipment are followed and GBSF insurance taken out (for £4). - FIS Savate Assaut rules for mats will be enforced – strictly no force behind contact, no shins/knees/elbows.
- Fighters must adhere to the official GBSF Kit Requirements (http://tinyurl.com/3l438ap)
- Spectators are very welcome – refreshments provided
- Elimination bouts will be 3 x 1.5 mins,
- Finals will be 3 x 2 mins.
- Weigh in - 9.30am - 11am, Fights - 11am - 5.30pm, closes 6pm.
Categories contested: Male: -56kg, 56-60kg, 60-65kg, 65-70kg, 70-75kg, 75-80kg, 80-85kg, 85kg+ Female: -48kg, 48-52kg, 52-56kg, 56-60kg, 60-65kg, 65-70kg, 70-75kg, 75kg+ To register, please purchase your place below, giving your weight category if you are a fighter. Spectator tickets can also be purchased. If fighters are also helping as officials, a lower entry fee applies.
Registration closed at midnight on Thursday 24th November. Late entries must pay £15 cash on the day, £5 spectators.

The British Savate Assaut Championships were held on 17th July in London. The event was a great success, attracting a record number of spectators! The winners of this competition were declared British Champions for 2011. BRITISH CHAMPIONS 2011: 65-70kg Male: Tony Crossman Vice-Champion, and Junior Champion: Michael Grove 70-75kg Male: James Antill Vice-Champion: Mike Ray 75-80kg Male: Stuart Madden Vice-Champion, and Veteran Champion: Charles Howes 80-85kg Male: James Southwood 85kg+ Male: Marc Gielen Vice-Champion: Ben Duke 52-56kg Female: Sian-Marie Clark 60-65kg Female: Rachel Shore 65-70kg Female: Lizzy Hawkins Vice-Champion: Morgan Alexander The GBSF gratefully acknowledges the invaluable assistance of the many officials and helpers who gave generously of their time to make sure this event ran smoothly. The next Squad training event will be on 26th June, 11am-5pm, in Cambridge at the Leys Sports Complex, Trumpington Road, CB2 2AD. All squad members should attend. There will also be opportunities for grading Blue, Green and Red glove, and open training. |

Rafal Tichanow - Cambridge Antony Crossman - Spectrum Squad members are required, as far as possible, to attend all official squad training events (the first of which was held Sunday 22nd May). Details will be sent out for future training events shortly, but squad members should contact the DTN if in any doubt about when they are required to attend training. The final team will be selected from the squad within a week of the British Championship on 17th July in London. Fighters must compete in the category for which they wish to be selected. The results of this competition, together with training attendance records, will be of primary importance for the selection of the British Team for the European Savate Assaut Championships (which will be held in Genoa in 16th / 17th September of this year). Further details of squad and team selection process can be found in the "Competing" section. |
