GBSF Instructor Training Programme
The following instructor
grades are possible in Savate:
Initiateur
Moniteur
Professor
To train as a GBSF Instructor, you should be at least 18 years of age and hold a minimum grade of Red Glove (opportunities are available for kickboxing instructors who wish to convert to savate). GBSF members should talk to their own club instructor about opportunities for training and development, in preparation for the Instructor Training Programme. For example, some GBSF clubs have class assistants who undertake a variety of roles, such as welcoming new students, organising club equipment or working with small groups - depending on age, savate experience and insurance cover.
The most recent Instructor training day was held in Farncombe in April 2005. Candidates took part in practical and theory sessions looking at judging and referreeing.
